Christian Science denies nearly all the central tenets of the historic Christian faith (including the Trinity and deity of Jesus Christ; His bodily resurrection; and salvation by grace through faith). It also affirms that sin, sickness, and death are unreal.

Christian Science strongly discourages its adherents from using conventional medicine to treat illnesses, with the result that a number of them have died painful deaths.

The movement’s membership has been in serious decline for decades. A parallel organization, the Aequus Institute, seeks to promote Mary Baker’s writings apart from the formal Christian Science organization.
